Someone I know recently created an app concept around accessibility and asked me to help with the visual side. The more we discussed it, the more I noticed how closely design, technology, and social thinking were connected. I’d love some recommendations for independent projects where these elements work together rather than staying separate.
Someone in my family recently had to work through a custody dispute, and it made me wonder about the basic standard courts use. If both parents are capable and involved, why shouldn't 50/50 custody be the presumption? Judges could still adjust the schedule when circumstances genuinely make equal time unsuitable.
The hard part is separating “equal by default” from “equal no matter what,” because those are very different standards. A 50/50 presumption seems fair when both parents are genuinely involved, but it should definately be easy to rebut when distance, school routines, safety, or the child’s needs point another way.
