Unusual routes for traveling
Once upon a time, my friend and I decided not to go to a typical tourist place, but just to follow the map “wherever our eyes were looking”. In the end, we accidentally ended up in a small village with some unreal scenery - a lake, pine trees, and no one around. We lived there for a couple of days at the locals' place, ate homemade food, and walked around without communication. Since then I think the best routes are the ones that aren't in the tops. Has anyone had similar experiences with unexpected locations?

Interesting topic, I love reading such stories. I haven't traveled beyond the popular routes yet, but I'm thinking of doing something unconventional this year. In general, such discussions are a great idea for inspiration, you can collect a map of places you've never heard of before.
