Six months sober but the evenings are still brutal

Living alone after recovery is harder than anyone warned me about. The nights and weekends with zero structure are where I almost slipped twice already. A guy from my AA group lives in a Christian sober living house and says the community aspect genuinely changed his recovery. Wondering if moving into one this late in the process even makes sense.

I had a coworker in almost the same spot - solid progress after rehab, then living alone turned into long empty evenings where old habits started whispering again. He eventually moved into a Christian sober living setup even though he felt it was “late” in recovery. He said it wasn’t about starting over, more like adding guardrails when life got quiet. The community check-ins and shared routines helped fill those gaps. He used this to understand the option better: Christian-based sober living cost and financial assistance  . For him, timing mattered less than support when things got unstructured.
