Old Curtis Radio Revival
A few weeks ago, I inherited my late uncle’s old Curtis portable radio. It’s a nice piece of nostalgia, but unfortunately, I have no idea how to operate half of its functions. The knobs and switches are all there, but the labeling has faded, and I don’t want to accidentally damage it while experimenting. While searching online, I came across this link: https://manuals.online/curtis. I’m wondering if anyone has used this resource before and whether it’s reliable for finding instructions on older models. Any advice on how to proceed before I try turning things on?

I’ve actually used that site before when I needed a manual for my own Curtis device. It’s pretty straightforward — you can search by model, and they usually have PDF versions of the original manuals. For older electronics like yours, it’s great because it often includes diagrams and maintenance tips. I’d say it’s worth looking there before doing any trial-and-error, especially if you want to preserve the radio in good condition.
