I have been crocheting for about six months now, and I am still very much a beginner. I started with a few simple scarves and dishcloths, but I really wanted to try amigurumi because those little creatures are just too cute. The problem is that every time I looked at an amigurumi pattern, my brain would shut down. All those increases, decreases, and magic rings felt like a foreign language.

So when I saw the Fuppys frog kit, I was skeptical. Another "beginner-friendly" kit that ends up being frustrating? I decided to give it a shot anyway, mostly because the frog design looked so peaceful and funny with those big eyes.

The video tutorials were clear and easy to follow, and I could pause and rewind as much as I needed. Within a few hours, I had a wonky but recognizable frog in my hands. It was not perfect, but I made it, and that feeling was pretty great.

The easy frog amigurumi kit really does take the stress out of learning. The yarn is soft and easy to work with, the hook is comfortable, and the stuffing amount is just right. I did not have to buy anything extra or guess which supplies to use. Everything was in the box.

Now, I am curious if anyone else here has tried this kit or other Fuppys kits. How was your experience? Did you find the pre-started piece helpful, or would you rather start from scratch? Also, if you have made Freddy, did you add any personal touches like a different color or accessories? I am thinking of making a little scarf for mine, just to give him some personality.

I would also love to hear from more experienced crocheters. Do you think kits like this are a good way to get people into amigurumi, or do they create bad habits by skipping the basics? For me, it was a confidence booster, and now I feel ready to tackle a proper pattern. But I know opinions vary.

If you are on the fence about trying amigurumi, I would say go for this kit. It is forgiving, fun, and the end result is something you will actually want to keep.
