Got a traffic ticket in Ontario – worth fighting or just pay?

Just got pulled over for going a bit over the limit on the 401, now I have a ticket with points and fine. Never dealt with this before. Is it better to just pay it online and take the hit to insurance, or actually fight it? Anyone have experience with paralegals vs doing it yourself? Feels like a hassle either way.

Paying means automatic conviction, points stay on your record for years, and insurance usually jumps – sometimes a lot depending on your history. Fighting gives a chance to get it reduced, withdrawn, or dismissed if there's any issue with evidence or procedure. I've used a paralegal for a couple tickets; they handle disclosure, negotiate with the prosecutor, and represent you so you don't have to go to court much. Traffic Paralegal Services helped me last time – got the points dropped and fine cut way down https://www.trafficparalegalservices.com/ . They offer free consults, which is nice to see if your case is winnable. Definitely request disclosure first if you go DIY, but pros know the local courts better. Worth checking out options before paying.
