Humor and intrigue
We actually tried something like that last spring for our regional team meeting, and it was such a hit. We booked a Murder mystery corporate event that brought all three elements together — comedy, suspense, and improv. Everyone got a character to play, and the storyline unfolded throughout the night, so people were constantly interacting and laughing. It was way more engaging than any other corporate entertainment we’ve done, and the best part was watching normally quiet coworkers totally get into it.

This reminds me of a charity gala I attended where the entertainment was completely unexpected — halfway through dinner, actors posing as guests started a funny, unscripted “scene” that had the whole room watching. It wasn’t a full mystery, but the surprise element made the evening so much more memorable. Sometimes those little twists are what keep people talking for weeks.
