I've been looking into septic system installation and trying to get a sense of the costs involved. What does the design phase typically run, and are there any hidden fees that might not be obvious upfront? I've heard that soil testing and permits can add to the total, but I'm not sure what's reasonable. Also, does the cost vary a lot depending on the property size or location?
